THE JGH DEPARTMENT OF OBSTETRICS, GYNECOLOGY AND GYN-ONCOLOGY

The hospital offers first-rate treatment and care in all medical fields – including a designation recognizing our work in women’s health. Presently, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is designated as one of the Centres of Excellence in Québec. Research in the department has led to hundreds of scientific publications and has steered toward international recognition for contributions in the domains of robotic surgery, neonatal care and large epidemiologic studies.

At the JGH, our belief is that technology cures and caring heals and we continuously strive for innovation, communication and collaboration. Led by newly appointed Dr. Walter Gotlieb, Professor at McGill and Chief of the Department, his health care team is expanding its reach in scientific research and optimizing patient care, clinical outcomes and quality of life by providing the right care, at the right place, for the right patient, at the right time.

THE JEWISH GENERAL HOSPITAL FOUNDATION
Since 1969, the Jewish General Hospital Foundation has conducted a dynamic fundraising program in support of the Jewish General Hospital (JGH), one of the province’s largest and busiest acute-care hospitals and McGill University teaching hospital renowned for the excellence of its healthcare services and the calibre of its medical and research staff.

Thanks to a partnership with passionate and generous donors and volunteers/supporters, the hospital and its patients benefit greatly from the Foundation's many fundraising initiatives. Funds support patient care, teaching and research at the JGH, allowing them to continue their mission of delivering expert clinical care, in a compassionate manner, to thousands of individuals on an annual basis while remaining at the forefront of important diagnostic, treatment and research activities.

The generosity and collaboration of donors and supporters resulted in the JGH being rated the #1 hospital in Quebec, #4 in Canada and amongst the top 100 hospitals in the world by Newsweek Magazine.
